Why the YellowPages Aren’t Very Effective

I’ve had this conversation many times with others in the business community. If more and more people are turning to Google to search for local businesses and phone numbers, why do YellowPages still exist? And for those businesses that still advertise in the YellowPages, has it been effective in attracting customers?

Most people who justify using them say: “They work in some markets! People still use them!”

Research Shows Websites Influence 97% of Clients’ Purchasing Decisions

Your website may very well be the most powerful tool in your marketing kit. Not only is it the place prospects and clients go to learn more about you and your services, but it has a huge impact on their ultimate purchase decision. In fact, only 3% of the 200 buyers surveyed – from companies of all sizes – say a provider’s website has no influence whatsoever over their purchase decision.

The survey was conducted by RainToday.com and included more than 200 buyers responsible for more than $1.7 billion in professional services purchased, such as accounting and financial consulting; architecture, engineering, and construction services; human resources consulting; IT consulting and services; legal services; management consulting; marketing, advertising, and public relations; and training services.

Help Save Haiti!

Save Haiti! from freshphase on Vimeo.

Hey everyone,

In order to help out with the current situation in Haiti, I have decided to donate one hundred percent of the revenue of my next project towards any charity of his/her choice that supports the Haiti relief fund.  The whole $1000 will be donated, and in order to maximize the total donation, I will complete the website by February 12 so the amount can be matched by the government for a total of $2000.  If you know of any small business owners in need of a website, please let them know!

What are your thoughts?

Stuff I’m working on

I’ve just completed the website for one of the best places in town for a great meal. The Cathedral Freehouse. It should be a great tool for visitors to get a feel for what the restaurant has to offer. The friendly staff at The Freehouse will be posting updates on sponsored events around the city as well as Saskatoon.

My next project is for the Arts Student Association at the University of Regina. The Arts faculty is HUGE so I hope the website will keep everyone up to date on important events and issues. I hope you enjoy!
